Reflecting on Uganda…  A Shift in Perception,
written by Ginny Brooks.
Children are at the core of what is pure and true, binding the gates of hell with the laughter of heaven.
Everything we truly are, rests in who He is. We can only limit ourselves by our lack of trust and faith in his Grace and Everlasting Love. One of the first things I noticed in these little ones we encountered at each school was their overwhelming kindness and acceptance. How were they able to be so joyous towards people they didn’t know? Christ in them was so evident to me; any feelings of sorrow were dispelled by the abundance these kids had in Him. I felt pretty shy engaging with them at first, until it struck me, that I was just one of them in their eyes and in my own. I am not a bystander or a hero. “We are” indeed, Children of the Kingdom, which resonated through my being. God hasn’t forgotten Africa. I can assure you He is very much alive in these young disciples of His Word. They worship with tenderness and community. The friendships they had with each other were most remarkable. I had never before experienced such humility and earnest love for one another as I did in Uganda; young and old.
I was given the pleasure to meet some of the college graduates of God Loves Kids sponsored students who attended as a GLK sponsored child throughout school. To see in the flesh how much someone had overcome what seemed to be everything against them and how just one person out there somewhere decided to believe in them and give them another chance to shine bright was the faithfulness of God to grant them an opportunity to have a future. God works wonders needless to say through His Saints. You can see through these young adults that they do not take anything for granted. Their lives are living testaments to God’s promises made manifest through the works of Love.

We are all tangled in the same mess. The hardships may look different, but pain is the same. A worthy sacrifice before the Lord has weight in our hearts. As Sons and Daughters, how will He use us to advance His Kingdom? There is no greater honor than to be a living temple to the Spirit of God. We have fullness in Christ Jesus and lack nothing.
